Empowering communities since 2015
GDEO is a community-based organization established in 2015 in Nyamira South sub-county, Kenya. We exist to tackle energy poverty and inequality by promoting sustainable energy initiatives, heavily focusing on empowering women and vulnerable community members.
To create a world where all people have access to affordable, reliable, and renewable energy, enabling them to lift themselves out of poverty, improve their quality of life, and combat the negative impacts of climate change.
To provide clean, renewable, and reliable energy to underserved communities, beginning with those who can least afford it, and empower communities to reverse the negative impacts of climate change.
Addressing climate change requires inclusive solutions. By giving women the opportunity to lead in clean energy initiatives, we unlock the potential for greater climate resilience, bridge the gender gap, and accelerate the transition to sustainable systems.
Specialized training in the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar energy systems, preparing women as champions of clean energy.
Equipping rural women with financial literacy, strategic marketing, and business training to manage their own clean energy enterprises.
Fostering leadership capabilities, preparing women to advocate for climate solutions and act as role models for future generations.
The multi-year Sustainable Energy Initiative needs strong partners to help scale our impact.
